Who we are

Move to Mauritius (https://movetomauritius.co) is run by Karen Thornalley and is part of Property Finder Mauritius. We are the data controller for the personal data you share with us. You can reach us about privacy at karen@propertyfinder.mu.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us or what is needed to run the site:

  • Details you enter in our forms: your name, email, phone number, nationality and the message or request you send.
  • If you request a guide, the fact that you asked for it so we can send it.
  • If you tick the newsletter box, your consent to receive our emails.
  • Basic, anonymised analytics about how the site is used (see Cookies below).

How we use it, and our legal basis

  • To answer your enquiry and provide the relocation guidance you asked for. Legal basis: taking steps at your request and our legitimate interest in helping you.
  • To send a guide or resource you requested. Legal basis: your request.
  • To send you our newsletter and occasional updates, only if you opted in. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Marketing and your choices

Marketing consent is always separate and optional. We never add you to our newsletter just because you contacted us or asked for a guide. Every marketing email includes a one click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing karen@propertyfinder.mu.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, ever. We share it only with Property Finder Mauritius, which provides your property search, and with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as our email delivery provider and website analytics. These providers act on our instructions and only for the purposes above.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as needed to help you and to meet our legal obligations. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we act on that promptly.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy friendly, aggregated analytics to understand how the site is used. These do not identify you personally. You can block cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the site.

Your rights

Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email karen@propertyfinder.mu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
